Eh. This book is OK. I thought it may have cool traditions that I could incorporate into my family life, but honestly, most of this stuff I already knew. Will use it to teach my kids the basics of the faith because that is pretty much all that it includes. Just the basic things like the sacraments, ten commandments etc
I work full time and have a family so that doesn't give me a lot of time to read. This book is an easy read and informative. I admit I already knew a lot of the material but there was some things that I did not. I am going to pass it on to my son and daughter to read as well. Worth the money.
Very informational and interesting! It all makes sense now! I highly advise anyone to read this book and not just Catholics!
This book is a good reference for anyone converting to Catholicism. It gives you a good overview of Catholic practices.
The book arrived and although I like the content, the condition of the book itself is poor. Many pages are stuck together because it didn't cut all the way through. And a few pages are just plain torn. Was going to gift it but will probably return it.

What an excellent introduction to all the things that make Catholicism unique! Dr. Hoffner has given concise and well-written summaries of the Catholic Church’s most important practices, resources, prayers, structures and traditions. References at the end lead the reader to much more on the Church’s doctrines and teachings, found in specific Bible translations and catechisms.A “cradle Catholic,†I knew a fair amount about the Church already, but I picked up a lot more just leafing through... for instance, I’ve owned a San Damiano crucifix for decades, but just the other day wondered who the other people depicted around Christ could be. What a pleasure to find them listed by Dr. Hoffner, along with the history of this style of crucifix!This book is not too large - a good size for child or adult. It’s nicely produced and of high quality, in both writing and organization. It would make a lovely gift for anyone interested in Catholicism, as well as to mark an occasion such as a Catholic wedding, Confirmation, or First Holy Communion. Every parish library or Catholic school should have a copy.
