I got this for myself...but I've been using it with both my elementary school students in group counseling sessions. Go around in a circle and when each person picks a card, everyone in group must try to practice what is on the card for at least one minute, as a group. Every card someone dislikes, someone else really loves...or in my case so far...using it with at least 40 elementary students. This creates immense amounts of processing questions including social skills so the kids can ask about eachother's experiences when they don't seem to "feel" the exercise in the same way as other members. The kids might learn how to do it the way it feels good if another group member shared about what felt so good about it for him/her. Our groups are usually 7-10 kids and 2 co-facilitators. I believe this could easily be done with one facilitator...because the kids will get into it, boys and girls alike (we have gender specific groups so keep that in mind).Great for personal use too but sort of on the beginners side of mindfulness. Great reminder cards for all!!!

These make an amazing gift and are really useful in curbing your own worrisome thoughts too! I bought a pack of these and pull them out whenever I need reminding that I am not alone, and that my mind is a powerful business that sometimes makes me anxious about the world around me. The relaxing cards work particularly well for me with instructions and reminders on them that you can do in your offfice, in the elevator at work, or even before important meetings. What I love too is that they are not filled with hokey rhetoric, but instead are tried and true ways to change your thinking. I notice that when I use them I feel more in control of my thinking and much more at ease throughout the day. I think these will make great stocking stuffers in winter too, when its gotten dark outside and friends need a little boost. Also are very good for students who face anxiety about tests, school, entering college, etc.

I love these for clients who need some guidance.

I'm so happy I purchased these for my work office!! I select a new card at the beginning of each day to help me stay focused and on track while also keeping my worry and stress at a much lower level than before. I have found these cards to be extremely helpful and have absolutely noticed an increase in my happiness and productivity at work. I keep the card of the day displayed prominently on my keyboard so I am reminded of its advice with just a quick glance. They help keep me balanced, grounded, and I worry much less. Thank you!!

Great idea! We all get bogged down with nagging worries and anxieties. Dr Abel's card deck is the perfect solution when you feel a little stressed or anxious. In effect, a perfect way to just slow down and let worry go away. i use these cards daily and keep them nearby.

This is a good mindfulness/CBT tips card deck. There are four tips of cards that are clearly labeled and color-coded to correspond to each type of card: Thinking, Relaxing, Doing, And Being Mindful. This would be great to keep in your desk at work or for older kids and teens. The author is a practicing mental health practitioner. The cards are colorful with simple images and short messages. The cards are easily shuffled. The author recommends picking 1 card and mastering the tip on that card before moving on to another card. Therefore, this would be useful for a one card a day or week or perhaps in a clinical setting.

Great go to for just self-help cards that I use to help with clients that need something to be reminded of when on their own or at home. I offer these as a way to help them relax and have a mindfulness exercises at their fingertips to be able to pull up an exercise when your brain is in that Anxious state!! Great and easy idea but also needed for those people that it is hard to remember what to do when you are anxious. If you can carry around a card - these may help you! Great for anyone. Easy enough and colorful enough to keep your attention so they are well designed, too!

Have used this deck several times now in groups and individual therapy. Really like the presentation and common sense ideas.
