Kendra Spanjer, illustrator of the Aldo Zelnick series, wore her beloved unicorn costume every day from the age of 5 until she outgrew it at age 7. Her favorite thing to draw was, is, and will always be unicorns. They both live in Fort Collins, CO.

I bought this book for my 4 year old daughter for Christmas. It reads very similar to "Goodnight Moon", which is why in the description is says it is a parody. It begins "In the great green wood, there were sweet hawthorns........ , so it begins like "Goodnight Moon." The illustrations are beautiful, which is what initially drew me to this book. My daughter loves it so much, that I am getting a copy for my 3 year old niece for her birthday next month, too! A bonus is that it includes fun "facts" about unicorns too!
Oh my gracious this book is fantastic! I don't have daughters so I bought this book for me and it's beautiful. The illustrations are breathtakingly sweet and the little parody of Goodnight Moon is also sweet. I may just try to read it to my boys anyway but either way I love it for my own unicorn loving adult self. 🦄🤗🦄🌈
Inspired by Wandrwoman's review, I ordered a copy of this book. It's very colorful, and packed with unicorns of every type.The verse is sing-songy, and full of whimsical rhymes. (Although I'm not so sure about: "Goodnight cutie with tattooed patootie".)Probably best for the lower end of the 4-7 year age range suggested, and for a unicorn-loving child.
Our family loooooove unicorns and good Night Moon. This book was the bees knees!! Every unicorn is adorable!!!! I would happily read this every night. The story is cute, very simular style to good night moon (hence it being a parody). Honestly I like it better. Two thumbs up from my 30 year old unicorn loving self and my 6 year old unicorn loving daughter.
My daughter loved, and I mean loved this book. She loves unicorns, so it wasn't a hard sell for her, but the writing and illustrations just added to the magic for her. Well written, great illustrations, and a flows (like Goodnight Moon) that makes it perfect for a night times read.
I bought this book for my daughter-in-law for Christmas since she loves unicorns. She said that it was her favorite gift. That says a lot considering that I also gave her a Pandora charm. Lol.
Bought as a birthday gift for my friend’s daughter who love unicorns and it’s adorable! Illustrations are cute and similar to goodnight moon, hence “parodyâ€
The pictures of this book are beautiful...So vibrant and colorful. I wish more children's books were like this one. Good unicorn themed children books are hard to fine. This one was perfect. Beautifully done. One of our favorites for story time. I would highly recommend this book.
